USA: Alstom has been awarded a $69m firm contract to supply a further 19 Innovia APM R automated peoplemover cars to Denver International Airport, taking the total order for 45.

Alstom has operated and maintained the peoplemover system since the airport opened in 1995. Expansion of the fleet will support current and future passenger volumes and accommodate vehicle maintenance schedules; the airport handled a record of 82·3 million passengers in 2024 and is projected to exceed 100 million passengers/year by 2030.

The vehicles will be manufactured at Alstom’s West Mifflin facility in Pennsylvania.

‘We are delighted to see how Denver International Airport has grown over the years and proud to be a partner with them as they manage an increasing number of passengers that move through the airport each day’, said President of Alstom Americas Michael Keroullé on May 29. ‘The expansion of the Innovia APM fleet reinforces our shared goal to deliver reliable, efficient, and sustainable transportation that will support the airport’s extraordinary growth.’
