INDEPENDENT freight operator ACTS Nederland was restructured on January 1 to create three separate business units, covering wagon leasing, maintenance and traction activities.
RailMotion AG was established in Basel to take over the fleet of 309 wagons. The maintenance service unit is now The Rail Factory BV, and will undertake rolling stock maintenance for external customers.
Traction provision remains with ACTS Nederland, which now has two sub-units. ACTS Railways is based in 's-Hertogenbosch and covers long-distance and cross-border line-haul work, while PortFeeders provides shunting within the Rotterdam port complex.
