GERMANY: A special coronavirus vaccination train ran on the Berlin S-Bahn’s ring line on August 30, with people over 18 who had not been vaccinated able to get the Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine onboard.

The Class 484 trainset made three anti-clockwise circuits on Route S42, and tickets were not required.

The vaccination area was screened so as not to be visible from outside, and after vaccination passengers had to remain onboard for observation for 15 min.

‘We take our social responsibility seriously and want to play our part in containing the coronavirus’, said S-Bahn Berlin CEO Peter Buchner. ‘This is only possible if as many people as possible get vaccinated. With the Ringbahn vaccination train, we offer easy access throughout the city.’
