MTA New York City Transit has selected a consortium headed by Union Switch & Signal with Syseca of Great Britain to equip a new control centre for the A division of its subway network. The work forms part of a programme to install automatic train supervision throughout the 1150 track-km network which has over 10000 signals.

The A division control centre will have 55 integrated workstations and 22 large-scale projection displays giving a 46 x 15 m panoramic overview of the network. Another 59 workstations are to be provided around the division for field and remote monitoring. The ATS is based on Syseca’s Advanced Information Management
