UTAH Transit Authority has awarded INIT a contract to count passengers boarding and alighting from light rail vehicles in Salt Lake City.
INIT will equip 41 of the city’s LRVs with its fully-automatic Mobile APC counters, and UTA has an option covering a further 28 cars. The infrared counters pass passenger data via a wireless LAN to the control centre for daily analysis, providing UTA with an overview of passenger traffic by stop, route and time.
