SNCB Chief Executive Officer Etienne Schouppe has been appointed Chairman of the International Union of Railways for 2002-03. DB’s Hartmut Mehdorn, East Japan Railway’s Masatake Matsuda and Marton Kukeley of MÁV have been elected as UIC Vice-Chairmen.
