A 4·7 km southeastern extension of Zhengzhou metro Line 3 from Henan Orthopaedics Hospital to Yinggang with two stations opened on June 26, taking the line to 25·5 km and 21 stations. A 6·1 km four-station southern extension is under construction, and a northern extension is planned.

The first two of 123 trams which Warszawa ordered from Hyundai Rotem in November 2019 arrived at the port of Gdynia from South Korea on June 20.

Delhi Metro Rail Corp has implemented domestically developed integrated project monitoring software for tracking the progress of its Phase 4 corridors and the Patna Metro. The IPMS monitors all stages of project planning and implementation from tendering through to revenue operation, including land availability, tree transplantation and utility relocation. Role-based access is provided from senior management to junior engineer levels, with dashboards and an app.

Halle city council has backed a proposed €250m tramway modernisation programme running to 2035. This would include extensions to Heide-Nord and Industriestrasse totalling 4∙9 km.

A 13·7 km, eight-station eastern extension of Xi’an metro Line 14 from Beikezhan/Beiguangchang on North Railway Station Square to Heshao opened on June 29. The 100 km/h line was originally known as the Xi’an North - Airport Intercity Railway, before being renamed as the Xi’an Metro Airport line on December 31 2020 and transferred from Shaanxi Provincial Railway Group to the Xi’an metro operator in January.

Germany‘s Ministry of Transport & Digital Infrastructure has confirmed federal funding for the extension of München metro line U5 from Laimer Platz to Pasing.

Free mobile phone charging facilities are now available at eight stations in central Melbourne. A total of 168 phones can be charged for free at any given time, with all stations except Melbourne Central having charging units in non-ticketed areas accessible to the public. The charging units look like a vending machine and are similar to the pay-for-use charging stations in shopping centres and airports, but are free to use. ‘Phones are an integral part of getting on with our working and personal lives and this initiative will help take the stress out of your travels’, said Victoria’s Minister for Public Transport Ben Carroll.

Local authorities in Mönchengladbach and Viersen have agreed to co-operate to support proposals to extend S-Bahn service S28 from Kaarst to Viersen.
