POLAND: Stadler has been selected as preferred bidder to supply 14 three-car electric multiple-units to suburban operator Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna, beating bids from Newag and Pesa.

Stadler will supply its Flirt3 EMUs for 260·9m złoty, and will provide 12 years of maintenance priced at 2·214 złoty/km. The first four trainsets are due to be delivered by August 2018, with all 19 scheduled to be with the operator by the end of the following year. They will augment ŁKA’s current fleet of 20 two-car Flirt3 EMUs.

  • Opolskie Voivodship has exercised an option for a further two three-car Impuls EMUs from Newag, with deliveries due in 2018.
