FRANCE: By means of a decree issued on December 28, legal powers have been granted for the construction of 29 km of the Grand Paris Express network, comprising the northern extension of Line 14 from Mairie de Saint-Ouen to Saint-Denis Pleyel as well as Line 16 from Saint-Denis Pleyel to Noisy-Champs, which between Saint-Denis Pleyel and Le Bourget RER will also form the southern section of Line 17.

The déclaration d’utilité publique enables project promoter Société du Grand Paris to begin construction and follows a public enquiry held between October 13 and November 24 2014. These underground automatic metro routes will serve a total of nine new stations, of which seven will provide interchange with ‘heavy’ modes such as the RER or other metro lines.
