AUSTRALIA: Following a successful four-year trial in Queensland, Transdiagnostics has launched Transend, which is designed to replace outdated wagon monitoring technologies and provide real-time data and predictive diagnostics to reduce derailment risks and optimise operations.

Transend uses IoT, sensors compatible with all existing equipment and cloud computing to provide relevant stakeholders with data every 10 sec on performance indicators including wheel and bearing temperature, brake status, wagon handling and acoustic or vibration anomalies.

‘The freight rail industry has long relied on outdated systems and reactive safety measures, such as wayside detectors that offer fragmented and delayed data’, said Transdiagnostics co-founder Peter Hogg. ‘Transend delivers real-time intelligence to control and maintenance teams, enabling operators to prevent failures before they occur.’
