RUSSIA: The latest wagon design from Altaivagon is the Type 11-2138 covered van which was developed in conjunction with TTK-Trans.
The Type 11-2138 has a capacity of 161 m3 by volume or 72 tonnes by weight, and features roof hatches and wide doors.
The 25 tonne axleload 18-194-1 bogies are designed for maintenance intervals of 500 000 km, and purchasers of the wagon would qualify for a subsidy of 300 000 roubles under the government’s programme to encourage the production and operation of modern rolling stock designs.
Once the certification process is completed, Altaivagon expects to produce around 1000 of the vans in the second half of this year.
