FRANCE: SNCF has exercised an option for Bombardier Transportation to supply a further 30 Regio 2N double-deck electric multiple-units. Deliveries are scheduled to run from June 2016 to April 2017.
The €227m order announced on December 23 is being financed by the regions where the trains will be used: Picardie, Midi-Pyrénées and Pays-de-la-Loire.
Firm orders for 159 Regio 2N EMUs have now been placed under a 2010 framework contract for up to 860 units.
The EMUs are manufactured at Bombardier's Crespin plant near Valenciennes.
