UZBEKISTAN: Navoi Mining & Metallurgical Co has bought 15 Type 61-933 coaches to transport employees between Zarafshon and the Muruntau gold mine.
The coaches were manufactured by the Toshkent Car Repair Plant. They are similar in design to traditional electric multiple-unit cars found across the 1 520 mm gauge region, but they will be hauled by locomotives.
Each car has 110 seats and a total capacity of 160 passengers, with climate control and heating systems to cope with the extreme climate of the area.
