SNCF Voyageurs has placed a €80m order for a further 10 CAF-Alstom Régiolis trainsets on behalf of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine région.

FRANCE: National passenger operator SNCF Voyageurs has placed a €80m order for a further 10 CAF-Alstom Régiolis trainsets on behalf of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine région.

The order announced by CAF on January 15 has been placed as an option on agreements for 36 Régiolis sets procured by Franche-Comté and Région Sud. CAF will assemble the trains at its Reichshoffen site, with Alstom’s Le Creusot plant providing the bogies, Ornans the motors, Tarbes the traction systems, Villeurbanne the onboard computer systems and Saint-Ouen undertaking design work.

The four-car electro-diesel trainsets for Nouvelle-Aquitaine will offer large windows, indirect LED interior lighting and 208 seats equipped with armrests, reading lights, power outlets and coat hooks.

The latest trains will complete 54 Régiolis sets procured by the région for use on routes across southwest France, with changes for the latest batch including an additional toilet module compliant with the 2023 TSI standard.
