Belarus: BC has taken delivery of two DP1 single-car DMUs produced by Belkommunmash and Pesa, and a third is to follow. Eight 2TE10 locos have been repowered with new engines, which is expected to significantly reduce fuel consumption.

Chile: EMD’s Muncie plant has delivered six GT46AC metre-gauge freight locomotives to Ferronor.

Croatia: NREC has awarded TZV Gredelj a US$2m contract to supply six GT26 locomotives.

Europe: BoxXpress has ordered four Siemens Vectron AC locos to be delivered this year for use on services between Germany and Austria.

CargoServ has ordered a Vectron to be delivered in February 2014 to haul cross-border freight to Germany.

France: SNCF confirmed a €300m order for 10 Alstom Euroduplex double-deck high speed trainsets on July 25. This is the final order to be placed under a 2007 contract for an initial 55 with options for 40; an order for 30 was placed in March 2012.

Germany: Last month DB Regio signed a €110m contract for Škoda Transportation to supply six double-deck six-car push-pull trainsets with Type 109E locomotives to operate 190 km/h regional services in Bayern (RG 7.13 p8).

Noris Automation is to supply Siemens with speed and temperature sensors for the future ICx fleet.

India: Delhi Metro Rail Corp has awarded BEML a Rs7·47bn contract to supply 92 standard gauge metro cars for the future lines 7 and 8.

CNR Yongji Xinshisu Electric Equipment has delivered 114 Type YJ157A traction motors to Indian Railways, while CNR has won orders to supply 1080 wheelsets to India.

Kazakhstan: CSR Ziyang is to deliver 18 diesel shunting locomotives to Kazakhstan by November.

Liberia: CNR has shipped two GK1E diesel freight locos to Liberia.

Pakistan: PR has increased its order for CSR Ziyang diesel locos from 50 to 58. Caterpillar and agent Allied Engineering are to supply 29 Type C175-16 and 29 Type 3516B engines.

Montenegro: TZV Gredelj has completed the modernisation of the first of two Class 412/416 EMUs, including new seats, toilets and windows.

Poland: Wielkopolskie voivodship has awarded Pesa a 7·6m złoty contract for the modernisation and refurbishment of two SA108 DMUs built by ZNTK Pozna in 2002.

Maopolskie has selected Pesa to supply six three-car and four two-car EMUs for 119m złoty plus 13m złoty for maintenance to 2020. They are to be deployed around Kraków.

Newag has won a 77m złoty contract to modernise 20 SM42 locos for PKP IC; 10 will be repowered with one engine, while 10 will get two smaller engines plus a train power supply for use on seasonal passenger trains. Newag will also remanufacture 11 SM42 locos as Type 6Dg for Pol-Miedz-Trans, installing Caterpillar engines.

SKM w Trójmiecie has awarded Pesa a 124m złoty contract to modernise 15 EN57 EMUs left uncompleted after the insolvency of TS Opole.

Pesa is to supply two single-car railbuses to PR for 18·4m złoty, and Newag four two-car units for 37·8m złoty.

Russia: TMH’s Tver works is to supply Federal Passenger Co with 15 double-deck coaches for use on 160 km/h inter-regional services from 2015.

Belkommunmash is delivering eight BKM-62103 trams to Samara. The 40% low-floor single-section cars incorporate coated steel panels and composite materials for corrosion resistance, have cab air-conditioning, and are expected to use half as much energy as existing trams.

Slovakia: Bratislava transport authority DPB has placed a €36·8m firm order for 15 Škoda Transportation Type 29T trams to be delivered by mid-2015. The 29T will be a unidirectional version of the 15 Type 30T cars already on order (RG 8.13 p19).

Turkmenistan: In July CSR Nanjing Puzhen began delivering 154 sleeping, generator, dining and luggage coaches ordered on January 31.

Ukraine: Azovmash has developed a 25 tonne axleload open wagon.

UZ has awarded Kriukov Car Building Works a contract to maintain the EMUs supplied by Hyundai Rotem.

UK: South West Trains has invited expressions of interest in separate negotiated contracts to finance and supply between 135 and 250 EMU cars to increase capacity on London suburban services from 2016-17.

On August 21 Stadler Pankow announced a firm order to supply London Tramlink with four Variobahn trams in 2015, an option on a 2011 order for six delivered in 2012.

Hitachi has awarded Knorr-Bremse a €42m contract to supply braking systems for the Super Express Trains. DCA Design International will design the interiors, producing a full-size mock up for ergonomic validation.

USA: ABB is to supply traction equipment for two catenary/battery trams which Brookville Equipment Corp is to supply to Dallas Area Rapid Transit (RG 4.13 p14).
