POLAND: Bombardier Transportation inaugurated a 20 000 m2 high speed train car body production and painting hall at its Wrocław plant on November 3. The hall has ‘unique’ 3D laser welding technology which will be used to produce car bodies for Deutsche Bahn’s ICE4 fleet.

Bombardier said its €58m investment would strengthen the position of the Wrocław plant, which specialises in the production of vehicle bodies and bogie frames.

‘Bombardier is the largest international investor in the rail transportation industry in Poland’, said Chief Country Representative Janusz Kucmin ‘We have more than 1 500 highly skilled employees in Katowice, Łódź , Warszawa and Wrocław. As we are investing in a new state-of-the-art car body production hall, we are developing our employees’ skills, as well as the capabilities of our Wrocław site.’
