GERMANY: Leasing company Railpool is to take over Hamburg-based locomotive maintenance company Ajax Loktechnik with effect from March 1.

Railpool said Ajax Loktechnik would bring expertise in flexible mobile servicing and heavy maintenance, as well as a second workshop in the important freight hub of Hamburg. This will remain accessible to all customers and locomotives, as will Railpool’s existing depot in the city.

Maja Halver founded the company with Jörn Bruhn in 2010

Railpool Lokservice manager Christoph Engel will take over the management of Ajax Loktechnik from Maja Halver, who founded the company with Jörn Bruhn in 2010, and CEO Tim Müller. Halver and Müller will remain associated with the company in an advisory role.

‘We are very glad that Maja Halver will continue supporting us as a consultant’, said Railpool CFO Ingo Wurzer on February 15. ‘She has built up Ajax Loktechnik and is an important source of knowledge. Like us at Railpool, she is also a competent and passionate rail professional and we look forward to continuing our good co-operation.’
