The Rendel subsidiary of the French-owned Ingérop Group has purchased a controlling interest in Aspec Engineering, a multi-disciplinary material handling, port and infrastructure consultancy which has teams in Brisbane, Perth, Newcastle, Wollongong and Melbourne. Rendel and Aspec have collaborated on projects including the Melbourne Metro and Sydney Metro North West Rail Link.

He will continue to oversee the business development department and will take on additional strategic leadership and organisational development duties.

French business travel management tools developer Goelett is to provide travel agencies and companies with access to pan-European rail travel planning and booking using Platform One from Trainline Group’s b2b arm Trainline Partner Solutions. The partnership with Trainline includes online after-sales care, enabling business travellers to self-serve ticket exchanges and refunds directly through Goelett’s online booking tool.

He brings more than six years’ experience in financing at Raiffeisen Bank, locomotive development and sales at CZ Loko and rail logistics at EP Cargo Invest.

Infrastructure design and project management consultancy Atkins has appointed Andrew English as Managing Director of its Transportation division in the UK and Europe. He joins from Australia’s John Holland Group, where he was Executive General Manager of the Infrastructure business operating in the rail, water, roads, energy, airport and marine markets.

Indra has renewed its ISO 22301, UNE-ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 20000 certifications with the Spanish certification association AENOR for another year. These certifications reinforce its business continuity and recovery systems, information security and the management of its IT to keep the company operating in the event of issues such as natural disasters, pandemics or armed conflict.

Transmashholding and Uzbekistan’s national railway UTY agreed further co-operation at the Russian-Uzbek business forum held in Samarkand during December. Transmashholding has delivered 14 diesel and seven electric locomotives and 60 metro cars to Uzbekistan since 2018.
