Jaggaer has assisted with the digitisation of Spanish high speed train operator Iryo’s procurement operations, which the supplier says has achieved savings of €3·4m and a +200% return on investment in two years. The chnage has improved visibility of all its suppliers and control over its negotiation and awards processes. Integration of the Jaggaer platform with SAP is to be completed by December, and in H1 2026 Iryo will optimise the procurement portal and will start a continuous supplier improvement project.

Stadler’s factory in Szolnok produced its 6 000th car body was during October. It was originally designed to produce 200 car bodies per year and employ 200 people, and has grown over the past 15 years to supply bodysells for trains operating in 14 countries, including the USA, UK , Spain, Italy, Norway, Germany and the Netherlands.

European Sleeper has acquired the GreenCityTrip brand from Flywise Travel, which will continue to offer package holidays as a tour operator but will no longer focus on night trains. GreenCityTrip will continue as an independent tour operator offering package trips by night train. European Sleeper co-founder Chris Engelsman said ‘this acquisition offers many synergies for European Sleeper. The GreenCityTrip package holidays are a perfect complement to our own offering of international train tickets and serve a market segment where European Sleeper is not yet strongly represented. Moreover, after the acquisition, it will become much easier to expand the range of package holidays geographically and into new market segments.’

Global project consultancy TSA Riley has announced a significant expansion of its UK infrastructure team and entry into the Canadian market through a merger with D2, an independent project management consultancy with offices in Manchester and Toronto which has worked on projects including the UK’s Transpennine Route Upgrade. US-based forensic engineering and scientific investigation company Engineering Systems Inc has appointed Matthew Dick as Head of Rail Strategy & Development. Over his 25-year rail career he has performed derailment, collision and fatality incident investigations, and worked with the Federal Railroad Association, National Transportation Safety Board and Transportation Safety Board of Canada. He was most recently Vice-President of Strategy & Business Development at ENSCO Inc.
