CHINA: A 10 km extension of Chongqing monorail Line 3 north from Bijin to Jurenba opened on December 28. This takes Line 3 to a total of 66·5 km with 45 stations.
Construction of the extension had begun in January 2013. Five of the six stations on the extension are elevated, while the station at Konggang Square is on the 2·5 km underground section of the route.
The extension project included the Huancheng North Road depot, which is accessed via a 1 km branch leaving the main route between Gaobao Lake and Guanyue Road.
