INDIA: A 4·4 km northern extension of Delhi Metro’s Line 2 was inaugurated on November 10. The elevated alignment runs from Jahangirpuri to Samaypur Badli.

The three stations are equipped with rooftop solar panels and rain water is collected for reuse.

The extension forms part of the Phase III expansion of the network. With the opening of the extension, Delhi Metro Rail Corp expects a ridership increase of nearly 29 000 on the 1 676 mm gauge Yellow Line, which now has a total length of 49 km.
