USA: Shortline group Jaguar Transport Holdings is to operate Norfolk Southern’s Doraville transload terminal, and will make capital improvements to expand capacity and support future growth at the site to the northeast of Atlanta.
Norfolk Southern said the agreement is part of its broader short line strategy of using targeted partnerships to extend network reach, improve local demand-driven service when required, and unlock growth.
‘This deal is completely focused on freight growth, delivering increased capacity and providing expanded local service in the important metro Atlanta market’, said Stefan Loeb, Norfolk Southern VP of Business Development & First & Final-Mile Markets, on April 1. ‘We value Jaguar’s experience in shortline and transload operations as well as its proven track record of success. This opportunity continues to demonstrate that shortlines and transloaders are a crucial part of Norfolk Southern’s growth strategy.’
