FESCO container train

INTERNATIONAL: Russian Railways, Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport & Tourism and FESCO have organised an initial delivery of refrigerated containers of Japanese cargo to Europe via the Trans-Siberian Railway.

The containers containing food, beverages and pharmaceutical products requiring special transport conditions were shipped from Toyama and Kobe to the port of Vladivostok, and dispatched on February 2 by FESCO’s regular rail service to St Petersburg for onward delivery by sea to Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

  • FESCO launched its eighth regular service from Vladivostok in January. The Volga Shuttle container train runs to Ulyanovsk every 10 days, offering a transit time of 11 days. The main traffic is consumer goods and automotive parts.
