Bane NOR has awarded Vossloh Nordic Switch Systems a framework agreement for the supply of switches and crossings

NORWAY: Infrastructure manager Bane NOR has awarded Vossloh Nordic Switch Systems a framework agreement for the supply of switches and crossings, as well as spare parts for existing turnouts, and the development of a range of switches for heavy haul lines.

The agreement includes the just-in-time delivery of fully-assembled turnouts from Vossloh’s plant at Ystad in Sweden plant on special tilting wagons.

The contract starts this year and runs for an initial two year term, with options for a further six years which would take the total value to more than €80m by 2029.

‘The framework agreement underlines our strong market position in northern Europe and the close co-operation with Bane NOR also opens up further growth potential for us’, said Vossloh CEO Oliver Schuster on August 5. ‘In the years ahead significant investments are planned for the digitalisation and data-based monitoring of the Norwegian rail network. With our globally unique product and service portfolio and the comprehensive systemic understanding of track, we are the perfect partner when it comes to condition-based and predictive maintenance.’
