SWITZERLAND: Zürich transport operator VBZ is using the PEAK.DMS depot management system from Peak Mobility to schedule movemenst for around 260 trams at five depots.
The software developed by the company previously known as PSI Transcom plans optimised rotations taking into account the condition of vehicles and required maintenance work, assigning depot space to a vehicle within seconds according to maintenance needs and operational status. It precisely locates each vehicle within the depot, so that location of every tram is always traceable.
The simultaneous roll-out at five depots was based on a scalable system architecture that can be flexibly adapted to different operational workflows, allowing VBZ to digitally manage vehicle operations across all locations with full transparency.
Integration of the bus fleet is planned for 2026.
