POLAND: Warszawa operator Tramwaje Warszawskie has rolled out Peak Mobility’s PEAK.DMS depot management system to automate key processes at its Annopol depot. This has shortened turnaround times, reducing manual interventions and optimising utilisation at the 14 ha site which is used to prepare and stable more than 150 trams.

Tram identification and location tracking makes use of 84 RFID antennas as well as 66 additional sensors, 272 track circuits and five induction loops. There is automatic control and monitoring of turnouts and signals, reducing the need for drivers to stop to prepare routes manually.

PEAK.DMS supports the automated planning of tram movements, including the selection of specific vehicles for specific routes and duties, enabling departures to be scheduled in a targeted and timely manner. Vehicles returning to the depot are routed to the relevant service and maintenance points depending on their condition and upcoming tasks. Entry and exit points, diagnostic and measurement stations and washing systems are connected to PEAK.DMS and controlled automatically to avoid bottlenecks.

There are staff terminals at key locations as well as a mobile app providing information on planned work orders and defects, with continuous progress tracking.
