FRANCE: Preparatory works for northern and southern extensions of the Marseille tram network got underway at the end of July, with openings scheduled for 2025.

A 1·8 km long northern extension will run from Arenc to Capitaine Gèze with three stops. The southern extension will run 4·4 km from Castellane to La Gaye, with eight stops.

The project includes the construction of 7 km of cycle lanes and planting more than 500 trees along the routes. Park-and-ride facilities will built at La Gaye with 500 spaces and Sainte-Marguerite with 600 places.

Further extensions north to the La Castellane district and south to La Rouvière are planned.
