RUSSIA: A 20-year PPP agreement for the modernisation of the tramway in the city of Yaroslavl has been signed by the regional government and transport project concessionaire Movista Regions.

Movista Regions is to upgrade the entire 45·3 km single track network, including eight traction substations, two overpasses, and the depot by 2025, and will also procure 47 single-section low-floor trams.

The overall investment programme is estimated to cost 19·7bn roubles, including funds from the national development agency VEB.RF, the National Wealth Fund and federal subsidies.
