SWEDEN: Transport authority Storstockholms Lokaltrafik has awarded Alstom a contract to support and develop digital systems on the Movia C20 and C30 metro trainsets it supplied for the Stockholm metro.

This includes remote vehicle diagnostics, vehicle communication systems, CCTV transmission and energy monitoring. There will be continuous software updates and dedicated test environments, with 24/7 technical support to ensure rapid incident handling and minimise disruptions. Alstom will also train SL technical staff and provide rapid response services in the event of critical cybersecurity threats.

The agreement is an extension of the existing rolling stock supply contract. It runs for five years from April 1 2025, with an option for a further two years.

‘By entrusting Alstom with the operational support and continued development of these systems, we ensure they evolve in line with operational needs and rising cybersecurity demands’, said Maria Signal Martebo, Managing Director of Alstom Sweden, on May 6.
