INDIA: Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority announced on August 21 that it had received seven bids for the supply of rolling stock for metro lines 2A and 7:

  • Hyundai Rotem
  • Bombardier
  • CRRC
  • BEML
  • Alstom
  • CAF
  • A consortium of Titagarh Wagons and TitagarhFirema

The winning bidder will supply 63 six-car sets equipped with air-conditioning, regenerative braking, CCTV and real-time track monitoring equipment.

The Asian Development Bank is funding the two metro projects, foundation stones for which were laid in October 2015.

Line 2A will run 18·5 km south from Dahisar to DN Nagar with 17 stations. Line 7 will link Dahisar East with Andheri East on a 16·5 km alignment with 16 stations.
