CZECH REPUBLIC: RegioJet has revealed the quantities of food and drink consumed across its services in 2025, with company owner owner Radim Jančura saying ‘our yellow trains are simply the biggest café where everyone can have their favourite coffee and cake and make their journey more pleasant’.

More than 1 755 000 cups of Illy coffee were drunk, representing 350 000 litres. Cappuccino was the most popular, being ordered almost 627 000 times.

Nearly half a million croissants with ham and cheese were sold, more than 250 000 Sushi sets and Pilsner beers, 150 000 burritos with pulled beef and 121 000 red chicken curries with rice.

More than 1 000 000 pieces of cake were served, with the most popular being cheesecake with cocoa crumble (578 000 pieces), followed by the apple cake with crumble (more than 250 000) and plum cake with crumble. RegioJet said that if the pieces of cakes were placed in a row, they would form a line more than 25·2 km long.

A new menu is to be introduced in April, featuring cakes with summer flavours.
