USA: A consortium of ACS Infrastructure Development (Iridium), Dragados USA, Hochtief PPP Solutions, Flatiron, Fluor, Balfour Beatty and Bombardier has been selected as preferred bidder for a PPP concession to build and operate a peoplemover at Los Angeles International Airport.

The $1·95bn concession covers the construction and 25 years of operation of a 3·6 km automated peoplemover with six stops. This would connect the terminus of the Crenshaw/LAX light rail line currently under construction with the airport terminals.

The alignment would be built 15 to 20 m above ground and services would be operated with a fleet of 44 Bombardier APM vehicles.

Commercial close is expected in April and financial close in June, with construction expected to be completed by early 2023.
