MALAYSIA: Public transport operator Prasarana and Hitachi Rail have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance the operation and maintenance of SelTrac metro signalling, develop local skills and support innovation for the domestic and international rail markets in-line with the national TVET Policy 2030 which aims to equip Malaysia’s workforce with industry-relevant skills.

Key initiatives are to include the joint development of digital tools for predictive maintenance and operational efficiency, as well as R&D in sustainable railway engineering.
