BRAZIL: Future operating concessionaire Trivia Trens has awarded CAF a contract for the comprehensive maintenance of 107 electric multiple-units operating on São Paulo suburban lines 11-Coral, 12-Saphire and 13-Jade.
The contract will start in July 2026 when Trivia Trens begins to take over the routes totalling 140 km from state-owned incumbent operator CPTM.
The 107 EMUs of various types were primarily manufactured by CAF, and will be equipped with its LeadMind digital platform for the real-time monitoring of critical parameters to support condition-based maintenance.
CAF said the 24-year contract valued at approximately €500m is one of its largest service agreements to date, strengthening its position as the country’s largest passenger rolling stock maintainer and guaranteeing a long-term presence in a market where it has operated since 1998.
