EUROPE: Alstom announced on May 13 that it had obtained approval for the operation of Coradia Lint 41 diesel multiple-units on the Polish rail network. This follows certification for the Czech Republic, and past approval for operation in Germany, Denmark, France, Canada and the Netherlands.

In 2013 Alstom was awarded a contract to supply DB Regio with 17 Coradia Lint DMUs for use between Lübeck in Germany and Szczecin in Poland under an operating contract which began in December 2015. Pending Polish type approval for the Lint DMUs, rail services have been replaced by buses on the Polish section of the route.

In June 2015 Alstom was awarded a contract to supply 12 units to Netinera’s Länderbahn for cross-border operation on Oberpfalzbahn services between Bayern in Germany and Aš, Františkovy Lázně and Cheb in the Czech Republic.

More than 900 Coradia Lints have now been ordered, with 750 in service.
