PT Raillink has awarded a consortium of PT Inka and Bombardier Transportation a contract to supply 10 six-car EMUs for the future Jakarta airport rail link.

INDONESIA: The PT Raillink joint venture of national railway PT Kereta Api and airport operator PT Angkas Pura II has awarded a consortium of local rolling stock manufacturer PT Inka and Bombardier Transportation a €66m contract to supply 10 six-car electric multiple-units for the future Jakarta airport rail link.

The 1 067 mm gauge EMUs are to be delivered within two years. Bombardier's €15m share of the contract includes the supply of Mitrac propulsion systems and the provision of engineering, procurement and quality management support.

The airport services will use a new section of line which is under construction to connect the Jakarta suburban network at Batu Ceper station in Tangerang with Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

‘We are very proud to be part of this local project to improve the connection between Indonesia's main airport and its rapidly growing capital’, said Jayaram Naidu, Head of South East Asia, Asia-Pacific Region, Bombardier Transportation, on April 25.

  • Bombardier is also supplying an Interflo 150 train control system for the Grasberg Block Cave mine in Papua province.
