PT Inka delivered the first of 31 six-car trainsets that it is supplying to operate on Jakarta’s Jabodebek LRT network on October 13 2019.

INDONESIA: PT Inka delivered the first of 31 six-car trainsets that it is supplying to operate on Jakarta’s Jabodebek LRT network on October 13.

The 1 435 mm gauge trainset has capacity for 1 308 passengers including 174 seated and a maximum speed of 100 km/h. The fleet is being supplied under a 3·9tr rupiah contract.

Construction of the elevated two-line Jabodebek network started in September 2015, and services are due to begin next year. The 24·8 km Line 1 will connect Dukuh Atas with Harjamukti Cibubur, and the 18·5 km Line 2 will run from Cawang to Bekasi Timur.

The trains will run in GoA3 automatic mode and draw power from a third rail at 750 V DC. The depot and control centre will be located at Bekasi Timur. ST Engineering is supplying platform screen doors for the stations.

Line 1 is to be extended from Harjamukti Cibubur to Bogor Baranangsiang in the longer term.
