Solux Express tickets can be purchased online or at stations.

KAZAKHSTAN: Private company Solux Express launched a passenger service between Kapchagay and Almaty on July 9. There are two daily round trips, timed to enable passengers to spend a day in either the city or at the lakeside resorts at Kapchagay, with a journey time of around 1½ h.

The services are operated using a five-car DR1A diesel multiple-unit which was withdrawn from service in Estonia after Stadler delivered a fleet of new trains. The DMU has 280 seats, wi-fi, power sockets and a buffet. Tickets are sold online or at stations.

The service will initially run during the summer, but a year-round service is possible subject to demand.
