SPAIN: Infrastructure manager ADIF has awarded a consortium of Bombardier (€77m), Alstom (€62m) and Indra (€25m) a contract to supply and maintain signalling on the 164 km Plasencia – Cáceres – Badajoz high speed line being built as part of the corridor from Madrid to the Portuguese border.

The €164m contract announced on September 22 covers the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of ETCS equipment, as well as 20 years of maintenance from the completion of phase one of the installation work.

Consortium leader Bombardier will supply its Interflo 450 system to provide ETCS Level 2, Alstom its Smartlock 300 electronic interlocking and Indra the Spanish ASFA automatic train protection system.
