TURKEY: Tendering is due to be completed in the coming weeks for a project to build a 12 km tramway in Adapazarı, east of Istanbul. Works are scheduled to start by the end of the year.
This was announced last month by Yusuf Alemdar, Mayor of Sakarya, the local authority area centred on Adapazarı.

The 12 km route would serve 15 stops. It will link Sakarya Atatürk Stadyumu in the east of the conurbation to Sakarya University in the southwest, running through Adapazarı city centre.
The tram line passed its environmental impact assessment in mid-October and received presidential approval in September.
