CHINA: Hong Kong operator MTR Corp has expanded its Light Rail Voyager tourism-oriented services with the introduction of a second route from September 28.
The Yuen Long Sightseeing Route operates on weekends and public holidays, using a branded LRV to take passengers on a journey through Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai.
Tickets cost HK$68, including unlimited same-day rides on light rail services and a selection of coupons valued at more than HK$200. There are discounts at local shops, and onboard staff to introduce key sights such as the Tsui Sing Lau Pagoda.
Tourism is everywhere
MTR Corp’s initial Tuen Mun Sightseeing Route has received ’tremendous support and acclaim’ since its launch in February, ’reinforcing our innovation vision and bolstering our confidence and motivation to promote leisure travel by railway, in line with the concept of “tourism is everywhere” in Hong Kong’, said Jeny Yeung, Managing Director, Hong Kong Transport Services.
