RUSSIA: Tramway operator Moskva Metro has awarded PK TS a contract to supply 100 four-axle fully low-floor single-section trams capable of 4 km of off-wire running at a speed of at least 20 km/h.
The trams area also required to have a rescue mode enabling them to tow another vehicle for at least 3 km at a speed of 10 km/h.
The contract requires 35 cars to be delivered within 145 days, then another 15 within the next 90 days. A further 50 are expected in 2026 in batches of 20 and 30. All will be delivered to the Apakov depot which has recently been rebuilt.
The contract had a total value of 39·9bn roubles, including maintenance throughout the trams’ expected 30-year life.
