PERU: The third phase of Lima metro Line 1 opened at 06.00 on July 25. The 12·4 km extension runs north from Grau to Bayóvar on an elevated alignment. This adds 10 stations to Line 1, which is expected to increase its ridership to 250 000 passengers/day. Services run every 6 min in the peak and every 10 min off-peak.

The extension includes a depot at Bayóvar. This will be used to maintain both the older AnsaldoBreda rolling stock and the 19 five-car Alstom Metropolis 9000 trainsets which started to enter service from July 2013.
