EGYPT: MerMec Group has been awarded a contract to supply diagnostic trains which the Orascom-Arab Contractors infrastructure joint venture will use for monitoring and safety inspection activities on the 2 000 km rail network now being developed with a design speed of 250 km/h.
‘Egypt represents for us a strategic and fast-growing market’, said Fabio Pizzolon, Global Sales Director for Signalling at MerMec, when the order was signed in November. ‘The third measurement train in two years confirms and strengthens the trust in our technological solutions to ensure safety, efficiency and innovation in high speed rail transport.’
