MEXICO: The first of 12 trainsets that Bombardier is supplying for Guadalajara light metro Line 1 arrived in the city on March 18. It was shipped from Bombardier’s Sahagún factory on March 16, two months ahead of schedule.

Bombardier announced at the start of 2016 that the Jalisco state government had selected it as preferred bidder for the 752⋅2m peso contract.

The new trains are expected to increase peak capacity by 50% on Line 1. Each two-car trainset is 29·6 m long. They are expected to run in pairs, and will have a maximum speed of 80 km/h.
