
USA: The city of Atlanta’s Department of Aviation has awarded Mitsubishi Heavy Industries group company Crystal Mover Services Inc a contract to upgrade the ATL SkyTrain automated peoplemover at Hartsfield-Jackson airport.
CMSI has provided operations and maintenance services since the 2·2 km line connecting the main terminal with hotels and parking facilities opened in December 2009. In December 2024 the company was awarded a renewed five-year O&M contract.
The separate upgrading contract runs for 10 years from March 2026 and includes renewal of the signalling system and other key components, as well as replacement of the existing vehicles and the supply of additional ones.
- Alstom has been awarded a $160m five-year extension of its contract to operate and maintan the separate 4·5 km eight-station underground Plane Train Innovia peoplemover whcih serves the secure zone of the airport.
