DURING a seminar on designing, building and operating high speed lines organised by the Spanish infrastructure authority in Moscow, on October 5 ADIF President Antonio González signed an agreement with RZD President Vladimir Yakunin committing both organisations to a five-year co-operation programme.

ADIF and RZD are to share their experience of railway research and development, particularly in the field of high speed, with exchanges of new technology for infrastructure also envisaged.

As well as expecting Spanish companies to bid for work on the Moscow – St Petersburg high speed line, due to go out to tender in the second half of 2008, Yakunin said that RZD would undertake extensive trials of Spanish gauge-changing technology.
