Brazil: CBTU has called tenders for the supply of an automatic fare collection system for the Belo Horizonte metro. Procurement funding is to be provided by the World Bank.

China: Guangzhou Railway has ordered 360 LF-310 two litre flush toilets from Microphor of the USA for cars being built by the Sifang and Tangshan plants of China National Railway Locomotive & Rolling Stock Industry Corp.

Craig & Derricott of Great Britain has won an order to supply passenger alarm handles to Goninan of Australia, which is refurbishing EMUs for Mass Transit Railway Corp of Hong Kong. Activating an alarm in the cab and an intercom unit, a handle will be fitted above each passenger door.

Czech Republic: Ferex-ZSO Liberec has won an order to supply brake shoes to the state railway operators of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The three-year contract has been valued at KC300m.

Germany: SOEG has ordered three diesel railcars from Bombardier’s Continental Europe plant in Bautzen, to replace steam locomotives and other ageing rolling stock on the 750mm gauge Zittau - Oybin/Jonsdorf line. They will have air-conditioning and retention toilets.

Great Britain: Balfour Beatty has been selected by Railtrack as the preferred bidder for a £100m contract to renew track and signalling at London’s Euston station. The 30-month contract would involve remodelling and capacity enhancement.
