A government reshuffle in France sees François Goulard appointed as Secretary of State for Transport under Gilles de Robien. who remains as Transport Minister.

From May 1 Reiner Latsch replaces Wolfgang Maurer as DB Representative in Nordrhein-Westfalen, being succeeded in turn at Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein by Hans-Jürgen Meyer.

Go-Ahead’s rail division has appointed former Managing Director of Thames Trains Michael Hodson as Director, Rail Domestic Services. Duncan Rimmer has become Financial Planning Manager. Wilma Allan has joined Go Ahead’s Thameslink franchise as Finance & Commercial Director on the retirement of Ken Watson, and Mike Boden has become Commercial Manager and Dean Hutchinson Income Manager. Chris Burchell has been appointed Operations Director at South Central, succeeding Elwyn Roberts. Richard Rowland is Retail Sales Manager and Roger Watkins Train Service Specification Manager.

Claude Liénard becomes Operational Finance Director, and Michael Schuller remains Group Treasurer.

The boards of Eurotunnel SA and Eurotunnel plc have divided the functions of Chairman and Chief Executive of Eurotunnel SA and France Manche, naming Jacques Maillot Chairman of the Group and Jean-Louis Raymond Chief Executive.
