JANUARY 20 sees the start of revenue operation on the Trinity Express commuter rail line from South Irving to Dallas Union Station, where it interchanges to the city’s light rail line (RG 10.96 p639). Trains were to begin on December 30, but without all 13 rehabilitated Budd diesel railcars, restricting operations to a limited free introductory service.

From January 20 there will be a regular peak hour service at 20 to 25min headways. The 16 km line is being operated for DART by Herzog Transit Services Inc, which also has the contract to run the Tri-Rail commuter service in Florida. o
